There has been a lot of news coming out today on the positive side regarding the Aaron Rodgers nightmare we’ve all been through. There was never a doubt that Aaron Rodgers was unhappy. But It seems that we may be getting an ending, finally, that is mutually best for all parties involved. Let’s breakdown the news from today and what it means moving forward.
The Ian Rappaport News
The Packers held their annual shareholders meeting today and addressed the Aaron situation, still hoping for a positive outcome. Shortly after the shareholders meeting Ian Rappaport reported that people close to Aaron believe that he is coming back this season. This was likely the first positive news regarding the ongoing drama between Rodgers, and the Packers. From the looks of his tweet it seemed that we may be heading to a positive outcome.
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has indicated to people close to him that he does plan to play for GB this season, sources say. That is the expectation. Many factors at play, but with GM Brian Gutekunst saying he is “hopeful” for a positive outcome, there is a glimmer of optimism.

Schefter’s Turn
Adam Schefter has been the most hated person in Green Bay since he broke the Aaron Rodgers news on draft day back in April. Schefter has his connections in the NFL so after the Rappaport news we now waited for more from Schefter. Around 3:50 EST he sent out a series of tweets indicating that it looked like Rodgers indeed was to return for Training Camp.
The new agreement, once finalized, would help set up Aaron Rodgers’ departure from Green Bay after this season, per sources. https://t.co/NojVojcHjy

Via the tweets Schefter said that the Packers and Rodgers had come to a mutual agreement and the Packers were offering concessions that would allow Rodgers to return. The concessions in place were not related to more money, something that Rodgers has turned down. The concessions in place would allow Rodgers to indeed have a “Last Dance” in Green Bay. Essentially Rodgers would return for this upcoming season and that would likely be his last.
But There’s More
Shortly after the pre 4PM tweets Schefter went on NFL Live to elaborate more on his tweets. Adam reported that the concessions that the Packers had offered Rodgers were to void the last year of his contract. The concessions only happened in the past 48 hours. Before this offering from the Packers Rodgers had not planned to attend training camp.
*Aaron Rodgers’ contract would be adjusted with no loss of income this year to give the Packers more cap room now.
•Mechanisms will be put in place to address Rodgers’ issues with the team. https://t.co/Ku9X9k9lXP

After the upcoming season the Packers can sit down with Aaron and discuss his future. If he is still unhappy he can be granted a trade. Obviously we all hope the relationship can be mended this year. Best case scenario is that the Packers win the Super Bowl and Aaron decides he wants to remain in Green Bay. Now should Rodgers be traded we can get a lot more for Rodgers than if he walks. Multiple picks Vs. A high compensatory pick. This is where we sit for now, awaiting Wednesday and the start of Training Camp.
Davante Adams
Last week it was reported that Adams’ talks with the Packers had broken down. This upcoming season is the last in Adam’s contract. The report was that the Packers didn’t want to give Adam’s a record breaking contract for a receiver. We have some good news on this front. As the positive news comes out with Rodgers, Schefter has said that Adams is now willing to negotiate on a future deal with the Packers. Good news people good news.

Whether or not we like Adam Schefter, he has the news. Good and bad. Granted he could use better timing in releasing his news. But as always. GO PACK GO.
