D.J. Moore might be going to a new team
Big news broke this week when the Carolina Panthers announced they fired head coach Matt Rhule. Rhule’s firing might cause dominoes to fall all over the league as the team is likely headed to rebuild territory. The team has several pieces that might make a good fit on rosters looking for a long playoff run this postseason. Packers fans seem happy about the possibility on social media. According to Cody Benjamin with CBS Sports, the Packers were quickly rumored as a possibility to land Panther wide receiver D.J. Moore in a trade:
If not now, when? That’s surely what Aaron Rodgers is thinking, regarding the Packers’ opportunity to get him a bona fide No. 1 for what might be his final run. Green Bay has felt the effects of Davante Adams’ departure during its sluggish 3-2 start, and it’s not as if Moore profiles as a rental to be regretted later, either. He’d instantly make the rest of the receiving corps better, shifting them down the depth chart, and provide Matt LaFleur a Pro Bowl-caliber weapon with or without Rodgers down the road.
According to Jonathan Jones with CBS Sports, teams have been “sniffing out” the Panthers roster, D.J. More included:
Teams have been sniffing around the Panthers in recent weeks, checking their pulse on the good, young players on the roster. I expect teams to place calls on Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, Brian Burns and Derrick Brown.
Rumors have Packers fans exicted
The developments in Charlotte had Packers fans thinking about possibilties to take advantage of the carnage with the Panthers. The Packers need playmakers at wide receiver this season. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has openly talked about the link with Odell Beckham Jr., but there’s no guarantee he will be in the Green Bay this season.
