NFL analyst suggests Green Bay will show interest in Odell Beckham Jr.
The Green Bay Packers could look at the trade market for help at wide receiver for Aaron Rodgers. And a name that continues to be hot in the rumor mill is Odell Beckham Jr.
The veteran wide receiver is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl and he’s targeting a November return. Beckham Jr. will have a market with multiple suitors and ideally, he wants to go to a contender.
Enter the Packers.
NFL Network analyst Ian Rapoport took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on a possible connection between OBJ and the Packers. Here is what Rapoport said on the situation:
“Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Packers were interested in Odell,” Rapoport said. “They were actually interested last year as well, they put in a pretty low offer, so it will be interesting to see if they ramp it up this year for Odell Beckham. They aren’t going to be the only team interested though. I would expect the Rams to be interested. Maybe the Bills with Von Miller doing some recruiting? Maybe the Bucs who have never been shy about bringing in a big name. Surely plenty of teams will be in it for Odell.”
Tough competition for Odell Beckham Jr.?
As Rapoport mentioned, the Packers showed interest last year. But did put in a low offer for the wide receiver and watched him land in Los Angeles where he had a career resurgence. Beckham Jr. was good for the Rams in that Super Bowl run and could help a team this year as well.
It’s no secret that Green Bay needs some help at the position. And at this point, it would be shocking NOT to see them in pursuit of him ahead of the deadline.
