The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers square off for their 207th all-time meeting on Sunday, September 10th. The meeting marks a fresh start for both teams. The Packers are hoping Jordan Love continues his preseason success into the regular season. If Love can prove he will be the third franchise quarterback in a row for the team, it will mark a monumental year.
The Bears are hoping that the incredible amount of assets they put around Justin Fields this off-season pays off. By trading the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Bears effectively told Fields they believed in him. Of course, one of the biggest regular season goals between these two franchises is to beat the other one. The Bears and Packers have the longest-standing rivalry in the league. If the Bears are going to come out on top, they may have to do so without one of their best defenders.
The Chicago Bears Could Be Without Starting Safety Jaquan Brisker When They Take On The Green Bay Packers

It has been a tough three weeks for Bears safety Jaquan Brisker, as he is dealing with a soft tissue injury. The team’s head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters that they are in a “wait and see” mode regarding Brisker. He went on to say that Wednesday’s upcoming practice will provide more insight into Brisker’s availability:
“He’s doing things this weekend,” Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said during a press conference this past week. “He’s been in there in practice this week, which has been good. And he’s been working off to the side also during practice, so he’s starting to get himself in there and we feel good [about] where he is. Wednesday will be a big day for him when we get back into the pads. So it’ll be a big day for us.”
In 2022, Brisker led the Bears in sacks and tackles, and he ranked second in defensive stops and tackles per Pro Football Focus. Although he made some rookie mistakes, his physicality and tenacity, especially in run support were major boosts for their defense.
However, Brisker’s role cannot be understated, especially against a Packers team that averaged 189 yards rushing against the Bears last season. If Chicago is down one of the best defensive playmakers, it could impact their ability to defend the run AND the pass.
