The Brewers announced on Sunday that they placed INF/OF Brian Anderson on the 10-day injured with a lower back strain and have recalled INF Jahmai Jones from Triple-A Nashville.
In 85 games this season, Anderson is batting .229, with a .317 OBP, a .373 slugging percentage, and a .691 OPS.
Could Jahmai Jones get an extended stay with the Brewers?
In his short stint with the Brewers: Jones showcased his ability to come through with the big hit. This three-run game-tying double against the Chicago Cubs on July 3 sparked Milwaukee’s 8-6 comeback win.

On July 1, Jones opted out of his minor league contract and became a free agent. Two days later, Jones was signed by the Brewers and added to the major league roster. Via OptaSTATS Jahmai Jones is the only MLB player in the modern era to hit a game-tying 3-run double or triple with a team in his first plate appearance.
However, despite that, Jones won’t stay long with the Brewers. He’s a solid defensive player who can provide positional versatility for the team, but Brian Anderson and Brandon Woodruff should be back with the team soon.
This move provides roster flexibility for the Brewers; Jones fills in a spot on the infield and will be a player similar to Raimel Tapia player who’s not known for hitting but can be a defensive replacement and an option as a pinch runner.
