The Wisconsin Badgers are at it again on the recruiting trail! They have now landed the #1 prospect in Wisconsin for the 2022 class. Whitefish Bay offensive tackle Joe Brunner has given his commitment to the Badgers.

Brunner took his official visit to Wisconsin on June 4. He chose the Badgers over Ohio State and Notre Dame as the other schools that had the best chance to land him. He is the 63rd overall player in the class of 2022 and 8th best tackle in the country according to Rivals.

    Early Thoughts On Brunner

According to Coach Riley from Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Brunner’s run blocking is as good as anyone will see on film. His physicality and pad level are also very impressive. These traits should easily transition to the college game.

At 6’6 305, Coach Riley sees Brunner as a potential guard in college. His footwork and pass protection could use some work, but these will improve in a college football program.

    What This Means for Wisconsin

Wisconsin is getting some really good recruits, especially on the offensive line. The Badgers are also keeping these stud offensive lineman from Wisconsin home in Madison. The Badgers are a program that rely on time of possession, limiting possessions, and running the ball. Keeping great recruits from Wisconsin in-house is a critical tool for Wisconsin.

It could be a year or two before we see Brunner, but he has all the traits to become a great offensive lineman and potential NFL player.
