The Wisconsin Badgers have been hot on the recruiting trail lately. The momentum continues in a big way as 4-star cornerback Jace Arnold has committed to the Badgers. After an official visit, Arnold chose the Badgers over Vanderbilt and North Carolina. He also had offers from Georgia, Florida, Ole Miss, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, and others. The Badgers offered Arnold on September 15, 2021.
About Jace Arnold
Arnold is 5′ 10” and 168 pounds, hailing from Marietta, Georgia. Considering the amount of power five offers and the strength of the other programs, this might certainly be the most impressive recruiting win for the Badgers in the 2023 class. He was recruited by the likes of defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard and cornerbacks coach Hank Poteat.
Arnold is the 33rd-ranked corner in the class of 2023. In his junior season, he recorded 33 tackles and six pass breakups.
With the Badgers recruiting Arnold, they are attempting to rebound from a 2022 recruiting class that had them ranked 44th overall and the 11th highest-rated Big-10 school, per 247 Sports. Ohio State dominated the Big-10 recruiting in 2022. They had the fourth-best recruiting class in the nation, as a result adding 16 4-star recruits. Penn State also remained hot on its heels with the sixth-best recruiting class. THe Nittany Lions got commitments from No. 1 running back recruit Nick Singleton and highly-rated QB prospect Drew Allar.
Arnold will consequently join a cornerback room headlined by Alexander Smith and Jay Shaw, a recent transfer. If Arnold can add some weight in the locker room and pick up the scheme, he could be a defensive force across college football for years to come.
