A Bears starter wants to beat Aaron Rodgers
The Green Bay Packers had questions at quarterback after Aaron Rodgers was injured last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. Backup quarterback Jordan Love played well when he relieved Rodgers. However, Rodgers appears to be the Packers’ preferred choice as their starting quarterback. At least, until they’re mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. A Chicago Bears starter hopes Rodgers will start Sunday.
According to Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune, tight end Cole Kmet said he wants to have the chance to beat Rodgers:
“Yeah, bring it on, you know? He’s the staple of their franchise and to get an opportunity to go beat him, it would always be a good feeling. So, yeah, I would like to see Aaron out there for sure.”

Beating Rodgers is something Kmet hasn’t been able to do during his time in Chicago. The Bears and Packers play this week in a game that has more implications for draft position than the playoffs. Both teams have had disappointing seasons. The Bears are 3-9, and the Packers are 4-8. The Week 13 matchup should be a win for the Packers if quarterback Justin Fields cannot play.
The Packers’ offense has looked much better in the past month than it did to start the season. The defense could get a boost of confidence playing the Bears’ backup quarterback Trevor Siemian.
