The Milwaukee Brewers and their minor league affiliate teams seasons are all underway.  This was Opening Weekend for the Double-A levels and below whereas Triple-A has more than a weeks worth of games under their belt. Here we will take a look at two stand out pitching performances this weekend from a pair of Brewers minor league pitchers.  One was at the Triple-A level and the other Double-A. The Milwaukee Brewers lost to the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night by a score of 5-3.  Milwaukee won the first game the day before and Sunday will serve as the rubber match between the two organizations.  During the second game of the series there were a few firsts that occurred. The Milwaukee Brewers have placed starting pitcher Jakob Junis on the 15-day injured list.  Team officials indicate that this was done out of precaution.  However his next turn in the rotation is projected for Monday, April 8 and they will need to fill that void with someone else. Milwaukee Brewers minor league affiliates had some incredible performances on Friday, April 5.  This was Opening Day for all levels Double-A and lower whereas Triple-A started a day after the big leagues got going.  Here we take a look at some of the top performances. 19 year old Cooper Pratt had a three hit performance including a clutch at-bat in the ninth inning.    In last year’s draft high school shortstop Cooper Pratt fell to the sixth round and the Brewers paid well over slot value in order to pry him away from playing collegiate baseball.  He is starting the…

Milwaukee Brewers rookie Oliver Dunn demolished his first career home run in the big leagues on Friday night against the Seattle Mariners.  The Brewers won this game in walk-off fashion by a score of 6-5 and Dunn’s 413 foot blast was one of three solo home runs from the Crew.  His blast off of Logan Gilbert will be something that he will remember forever and thankfully he was able to get the baseball back afterwards. The Milwaukee Brewers made a successful waiver claim on Friday, April 5 as they acquired Vladimir Gutierrez.  He is a pitcher that they are familiar with due to his history with the Cincinnati Reds.  Upon being claimed he was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. Vladimir Gutierrez was claimed off of waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers.   Entering 2024 Vladimir Gutierrez was pitching for the Miami Marlins.  He joined their organization on a minor league deal, was added to the 40-man roster to help with their pitching shortage, and then was designated for assignment after throwing three innings. The Milwaukee Brewers are continuing to make moves early into the 2024 regular season.  One of their more recent additions has been catcher Francisco Mejia.  He agreed to a minor league deal with the team and will report to Triple-A Nashville.
