The Milwaukee Brewers swept the New York Mets on the road during Opening Weekend. On Tuesday, April 2 they played their home opener and advanced to 4-0 on the season after winning another close game. Let’s take a look at all the events that transpired throughout this thrilling 3-2 ball game.
Bob Uecker returned for his 54th season behind the mic and Bill Schroeder his 30th season in the booth.
Brewers radio announced Bob Uecker made his 2024 team debut during the home opener. This is the 90 year old’s 54th season calling baseball games. He will be taking a day-by-day approach this year but his voice sounds as good as ever. In the television booth Bill Schroeder also made his season debut in which this year marks his 30th season.

Jackson Chourio, Christian Yelich, and Brice Turang were key contributors offensively.
Making his home debut Jackson Chourio collected a RBI base hit during his first at-bat in the second innings. Christian Yelich hit a 423 foot solo home run in the next innings and then Brice Turang collected a two out RBI hit as well. Additionally Turang stole two more bases in this contest and raised his season stolen base total to six.

The Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff limited the Minnesota Twins to just three hits.
Jakob Junis made his season and Brewers debut in this game as the starting pitcher. He covered four innings, gave up three hits, and allowed one earned run. Elvis Peguero followed him for two innings and gave up an unearned run. Hoby Milner, Joel Payamps, and Abner Uribe closed the game out. Uribe made an incredible fielding play in the ninth to turn a clutch double play.

After this 3-2 victory the Brewers have now advanced to 4-0 for just the fourth time in franchise history. They will look to start 5-0 tomorrow during the series finale against the Twins. This will be a day game with the first pitch seconded for 12:10 PM CT.
