141 days ago, the NBA season came to a screeching halt in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic that was swept the globe.  While there are many things that have become a struggle for many people because of this, Milwaukee sports fans were devastated.  For the first time in nearly 40 years, it seemed as if the Bucks were on their way to a championship.  Now, months later, their chase resumes. The long awaited Brewers home opener will have to wait a little longer.  According to multiple national and local sources, the St. Louis Cardinals have been advised to isolate in their hotel.  At least one member of the traveling party has tested positive for COVID 19. As of right now, the Brewers themselves do not have any known positive COVID tests.  This postponement, while disappointing, is a step forward for MLB.  Last week, the league allowed the Marlins and Phillies to play a game despite multiple positive COVID tests.  As of right now, more than half of the Marlins roster…

The Milwaukee Brewers return home from starting the season with a six-game road trip.  They will take on the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game weekend series.  These games will, of course, be played without fans, but at least there is baseball in Milwaukee once again. The Road Trip The Brewers went 3-3 on their road trip, seeing mixed results from their offense but overall very good pitching from the rotation and bullpen.  The trip ended on a high note behind the brilliant performance of Brandon Woodruff on Wednesday night.  Woodruff and three relievers combined to throw a one-hitter…

Thanks to Brandon Woodruff, the Brewers bounced back from a late-inning collapse on Tuesday night to shutout the Pirates 3-0 on Wednesday night. The win moves the Brewers to 3-3 on the season as they make their way home for a weekend series against the hated Cardinals. Stellar Pitching The story of tonight’s game was the pitching of Brandon Woodruff. “Woody” fanned ten Pirates over six and a third innings, allowing just one hit. That one hit, a swinging bunt single, would be the only hit the Pirates could muster against the Crew. Woodruff’s fastball was electric, as he reached…

In a breaking development, free agent defensive end Everson Griffen has narrowed his options down to three teams. One of them is the Packers. Griffen, who has played his entire career in Minnesota, is a four-time Pro Bowl selection with 74.5 career sacks. A fourth round pick in 2010, Griffen has proven to be a durable player, playing in 147 out of a possible 160 career games. A move such as this would greatly increase the ferocity of the Packers’ already intimidating pass rush. Griffen’s best season came in 2017 when he played in 15 games, recording 13.5 sacks. He…

In an unsurprising move, the Brewers have announced that Logan Morrison will be a member of their Opening Day Roster. Morrison was signed by the Brewers to a minor league contract in January of this year. He was also extended an invitation to Spring Training. Before Spring Training was cancelled due to COVID-19, Morrison was hitting .300/.364/.600 with three home runs and seven RBI in 12 games. When the Brewers resumed play in Milwaukee earlier this month, Morrison continued to impress with booming home runs and consistent play. When the Brewers allowed Eric Thames to leave in free agency, the…
