The Brewers’ ragtag offense mustered just one run, but it was all that they would need on this night.  Adrian Houser pitched seven scoreless innings and the bullpen held together to complete the 1-0 victory. Houser was lights-out from the onset of the game.  He finished with a line of 7IP, 5 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts.  In the process, he induced three double play balls that allowed him to keep his pitch count low all night.  He was pulled after seven innings and 87 pitches.  David Phelps recorded a hold in the eighth and Josh Hader earned his…

When the Brewers’ opening series against the Cardinals was postponed, questions surrounded whether baseball would be played in Milwaukee, or anywhere else, for the rest of the season.  Fortunately, the Brewers were able to have a home opening series against the Chicago White Sox.  Unfortunately, they were unable to secure any victories, and would lose both games. Game One- White Sox 6, Brewers 4 The Brewers started this home stand with a lot of hope.  Christian Yelich, mired in a slump to start the season, was thought to be able to break out in the friendly confines of Miller Park. …

The Brewers got on the board first in their final game at home against the White Sox.  It was not enough, though, as the White Sox scored three unanswered runs en route to their sixth straight victory. The White Sox frustrated Brewers’ starter Brandon Woodruff with a flurry of infield hits throughout the game.  Fortunately, Woodruff was able to limit the damage for the most part.  The Brewers’ ace pitched six innings, allowing two runs on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts.  The White Sox’ Eloy Jimenez tagged Woody for a two-run home run that tied the game…

It was announced earlier last month that the NBA awards would be decided based off of teams’ play prior to the hiatus forced by COVID.  Earlier today, it was announced the Coach Bud and Oklahoma City’s Billy Donovan were voted co-Coach of the Year.  Toronto’s Nick Nurse came in third, and was one vote away from a three-way tie for first. Coach Bud won the award last season as well when he led the Bucks to a league-best 60-22 record.  The Bucks currently have the NBA’s best record again at 54-13.  Budenholzer also won the award as the Atlanta…

The Chicago White Sox are coming to town after an emotional weekend in Milwaukee.  In a season that will be defined by overcoming adversity, the Brewers are now set to finally hold their home opening series after a tumultuous weekend.  The entire scheduled series against the rival Cardinals ended up cancelled.  Several Cardinals players and staff members tested positive for COVID amid reports of their breaking MLB’s protocol surrounding social distancing and quarantining.  Bench coach Pat Murphy suffered a heart attack on the field, but was quickly rushed to the hospital and will make a full recovery. Now, finally, it’s…

The long awaited Brewers home opener will have to wait a little longer.  According to multiple national and local sources, the St. Louis Cardinals have been advised to isolate in their hotel.  At least one member of the traveling party has tested positive for COVID 19. As of right now, the Brewers themselves do not have any known positive COVID tests.  This postponement, while disappointing, is a step forward for MLB.  Last week, the league allowed the Marlins and Phillies to play a game despite multiple positive COVID tests.  As of right now, more than half of the Marlins roster…

The Milwaukee Brewers return home from starting the season with a six-game road trip.  They will take on the division-rival St. Louis Cardinals in a three-game weekend series.  These games will, of course, be played without fans, but at least there is baseball in Milwaukee once again. The Road Trip The Brewers went 3-3 on their road trip, seeing mixed results from their offense but overall very good pitching from the rotation and bullpen.  The trip ended on a high note behind the brilliant performance of Brandon Woodruff on Wednesday night.  Woodruff and three relievers combined to throw a one-hitter…
