The Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers enter Week Two at 1-0.  The Falcons were able to take care of the Carolina Panthers 24-10 at home while the Packers dismantled the Chicago Bears 38-20 on the road.  The two teams will face off against each other in Atlanta on Sunday and the Falcons may be trying to get a sneaky leg up.

According to NFL Writer Aaron Wilson the Falcons have brought in offensive lineman James Empey for a workout.

The Cowboys originally signed James Empey as an undrafted free agent in 2022, his first year out of Brigham Young University (BYU). Empey spent last season on the Dolphins’ practice squad after Dallas waived him at the end of training camp.

Despite being elevated to the active roster for one game, Empey did not play.

His four seasons at BYU (2018-21) included starting all 41 games at center and being a two-time captain.

On August 29th, 2023 the Packers claimed Empey off waivers.  He was officially released on September 1st, 2023.  While Empey may not have the “inside track” on what the Packers have planned offensively, it is interesting the Falcons decided to bring him in for a workout a week before they play.
