The NBA just released the teams that will be competing in its All-Star weekend events. The Antetokounmpo brothers are set to participate as a team in the revamped skills competition. Bucks players Giannis and Thanasis will be joined by their brother, Alex, who plays for the NBA G League Raptors 905. The brothers will be competing against two other teams. Garland, Allen, and Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers make up one, with the final team consisting of rookies Scottie Barnes, Cade Cunningham, and Josh Giddy. The revamped skills competition consists of four parts, with only two teams competing in the final round.

The Competition
Each team will compete in the first three rounds of the competition, which involves shooting, passing, and a relay. After the first three rounds, the two teams with the highest accumulated “Challenge Points” move on to the final round, a half court shot.

Challenge 1 – Shooting
Each team member will take turns shooting from five different spots on the court for 30 seconds. Each spot has a different point value and ranges from 10-30 feet. Players are not allowed to repeat the same shot consecutively. The other two team members will rebound for the shooter. All three scores will be added together to determine a winning team. The victors earn 100 Challenge Points.
Challenge 2 – Passing
All players will participate together. Teams will have 30 seconds to make passes into oversized targets that are at varying distances from the players. Each team member must make an attempt at all three targets and players cannot make consecutive passes. Each distance is worth a different point value. The winning team earns 100 Challenge Points.
Challenge 3 – Team Relay
All players on the team will compete in a timed relay. Each player must complete the course, which has five skills in the following order:
- Outlet pass from the baseline to a moving target.
- Dribble down the court through three moving pylons.
- Make a short shot in the lane.
- Make a three-pointer in the corner against an automated defender.
- Each member must dribble to the opposite goal and make a basket.
The team that completes this the fastest will earn 200 Challenge Points.
Challenge 4 – Half Court Shot
The two teams who have the most challenge points after the first three rounds of competition will advance to the final round, the half court shot. Each team has one minute and 30 seconds to make their basket. The team that makes it the fastest will be the winner.
