Aaron Rodgers has not yet made a decision on whether or not he wants to play in the NFL in 2023. He is currently in the midst of a darkness retreat to help him gain some clarity on his future. Even though he has yet to commit to anything, there are many rumors stating that the Green Bay Packers want to move on from him next season. Numerous teams, namely the New York Jets and Las Vegas Raiders, have been named in these rumors. Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, though, has a different team in mind for Rodgers.

During an appearance on Let’s Go on Sirius XM, former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald named the Dallas Cowboys as the team that Rodgers should most want to play for in 2023:

    🔥 @LarryFitzgerald on Aaron Rodgers:

"There's a lot of conversations about the Jets. If I was Aaron, that wouldn't be the most enticing route. It would be something a lot more controversial, like for him to go to the Dallas Cowboys."

“I know there’s a lot of conversations about the Jets. If I was Aaron, that wouldn’t be the most enticing route. It would be something a lot more controversial, like for him to go to the Dallas Cowboys or something like that. He can be reunited with Mike McCarthy and have a team around him that it’s ready-made.”

That is certainly an “interesting” idea. The Cowboys, of course, have Dak Prescott currently as their quarterback. The 2022 Walter Payton Man of the Year has had the support of Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy for years, despite leading the NFL in interceptions this past season. One can see, though, how playing for Dallas could be intriguing for Rodgers. They are an established team with a plethora of offensive weapons.

Of course, such a move would require Dallas to give up numerous draft picks. Due to their regular season success, the position of those picks may not be ones that Green Bay is interested in. There is also the notion that trading Rodgers within the NFC is not something the Packers want to do, especially to such an old rival such as Dallas.

File this under “intriguing but never going to happen” in regards to Aaron Rodgers trade rumors.
