Aaron Rodgers may not play football in 2023. He may decide to retire. Then again, he may play in 2023, and that certainly seems to be the consensus opinion. Indeed, most of the rumors and talk surrounding Rodgers is not whether or not he will play at all in 2023, but rather what team he will play for. There are several teams that are in need of a new starting quarterback next season, but four of them have already expressed zero interest in the four-time MVP.
One Team Favored to Acquire Aaron Rodgers Now Has Zero Interest
For weeks, the Las Vegas Raiders were the team with best odds to have Aaron Rodgers under center in 2023. However, according to Peter King of NBC Sports, they are now one of four teams that have no interest in trading for the four-time MVP:
“The Bears have the first overall pick in 2023. There are four quarterbacks likely to go in the first half of the first round, and four teams with major quarterback needs in the top nine: Houston (two), Indianapolis (four), Las Vegas (seven) and Carolina (nine). I hear—though it might be smoke—that none of the four wants to scotch-tape a veteran like 39-year-old Aaron Rodgers and probably not Derek Carr. So the Bears, if they’re not going to use the first pick on a quarterback, could get rich quick by using quarterback desperation against these four teams.”
According to King, the Raiders, Texans, Colts, and Panthers are the four teams that have already shot down any notion of acquiring Rodgers this offseason.
