The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of yet another offseason of uncertainty. Aaron Rodgers has not yet decided on whether or not he will return in 2023. If he does, the Packers are rumored to be interested in trading the four-time MPV quarterback. At least, that is what ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show. There are also rumblings that, if Rodgers returns in 2023 and remains the starter, Jordan Love will ask for a trade. It certainly seems like a messy situation.
John Kuhn Identifies the Source of All of the Rumors
In his show “Nine 2 Noon” on 97.3 The Game, former Packers fullback John Kuhn took some questions from fans/listeners. One of them was concerning the “sources” Adam Schefter claims to have when he discusses the future of Aaron Rodgers.
When discussing the Schefter-Rodgers-Love trade rumors, Kuhn asked his producer, Armen Saryan, to confirm that Schefter, Rodgers, and Love are all represented by the same agency.
“So, I believe they are all represented by CAA, which is Creative Artists Agency,” Saryan said.
“Well there’s your source,” Kuhn replied.
Saryan continued, “But that’s Aaron’s marketing agency. It’s not his contract agent, which I believe is David Dunn. Isn’t that his name? David Dunn? Derek Dunn?”
“I am not a big follower of athletes and their agents,” Kuhn answered. “I just want to know if this is true. If this is true, then that’s the source. If that’s the source, then it sounds highly probable. Highly likely.”
Jordan Love is represented by Athlete’s First, the same agency that represents Aaron Rodgers. It is unclear what connection Love would have to CAA.
Should the Packers Trade Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love?
Kuhn then explored the benefits for the Packers in trading either Rodgers or Love:
“It’s a very interesting proposition that they are stuck in here. How do you not entertain what Aaron Rodgers could give you to upgrade the roster for a young quarterback in Jordan Love. On the other hand, if Rodgers says he wants to come back, and his thumb is healed, and it was just his thumb last year, how do you not entertain trading Jordan Love?”
In other words, do the Packers trade Rodgers for picks and build around Jordan Love, or do they trade Love and get players that could push the Packers back into Super Bowl contention with Rodgers under center?
It is a very interesting situation, indeed!

Get rid of Rodgers. He’s an aging, high dollar QB, that’s not going to take you to the Super Bowl. He’s also been a headache for the coach and team. There’s no real reason for Rodgers to be there at this point.
The Packers have to think long term. Rodgers maybe has a couple of years left in him, that’s if he doesn’t suffer a serious injury. Trading him now at gets you a couple of building blocks for the future. Is Love the future? That remains to be seen, but they will never know if they don’t give him the opportunity to play.
