Brook Lopez is the key to a Bucks series win. Since his return from a back injury, he has helped the Bucks get their championship mojo back. The seven foot 34 year old is one of the keys to a Bucks series win, beating up on the blocks and keeping control of the game.
While the numbers for Brook are not high scoring like Giannis or Jrue, if he manages to have a higher-points and rebound number, the Bucks seem to win. Brook only averages 25 minutes a game but those minutes have been impactful. If he can hit 30 (pts, rebounds, blocks, assists) the Bucks are almost guaranteed a win.
Just look at this limited box score from the first three games of the Celtics series.
Game One: (Win) 8 Points 10 Rebounds
Two: (Loss) 2 Points 6 Rebounds
Three:(Win) 13 Points 10 Rebounds
Four (Loss) 17pts 7 rebounds (and an amazing block)
So, just in case you are looking for something to mention while watching the game with some buddies it has to be this: If Lopez has over two made threes and ten rebounds, the Bucks have an excellent chance to win. He is truly a key player on this roster, functioning not only as a rim protector but as a scoring option and rebounder. The national narrative seems to be about his “3’s” and blocks, but the true key seems to be his overall totals. The Bucks are in dire need of a third scoring option. Hopefully, that can come from the big man.
