The Green Bay Packers have had an eventful off-season. In fact, their last two off-seasons have been memorable. Of course, this off-season was headlined by the franchise-altering Aaron Rodgers trade. Last off-season it was the major Davante Adams trade. Both trades netted the Green Bay Packers a substantial amount of premium draft picks. One of those former players revealed today that he is still in communication with the Green Bay Packers, specifically their front office.
Davante Adams Reveals He Has Been Talking To Matt LaFleur And Brian Gutekunst
In a podcast with I Am Athlete, Davante Adams dropped a major piece of news. Adams went on to say thata he’s got nothing but love for the packers— still talks to Brian, Matt and Mark— but the offer, “south of 20” he got from them before his last year in Green Bay was a primary reason for not being here anymore. His full quote:
Honestly, there’s no bad blood. I still respect and talk to a lot of those guys over there and check in. I still follow the Packers on Instagram to just let them know I still got love for them and the community. *Adams was asked when the last time he talked to Brian Gutekunst was.” Adams responded: I actually texted him and checked in on him and just said hello. I think it was during the Pro Bowl when some of the guys were out here. I also texted Matt LaFleur on his birthday and said Happy Birthday. So like I said, genuine love over there.
I talked to Mark Murphy, the president over there and had a good conversation after a round of golf. So yeah, nothing but love for those people over there at this point.

Recently Mark Powell published an article stating that Davante was clearly unhappy in Las Vegas:
Raiders: Davante Adams doesn’t sound happy in Las Vegas
“They (the front office) think this is the best bet for us right now to put us in a position to be urgent. We don’t see eye-to-eye on what we think is best for us right now,” Adams said, per The Ringer. “If we play a certain brand of ball, I can get [Garoppolo] to conform to whatever. But if we use him a certain type of way, then it’s going to make it tough for us to maximize who we should be this year.”
Adams doesn’t sound happy about the Raiders long-term vision. With Carr, he was playing with a former Pro Bowler and MVP candidate. Not to mention, it was one of his best friends. That made leaving a future Hall of Famer like Aaron Rodgers all the more tolerable.
Now, with Rodgers traded to the New York Jets — a move the Raiders reportedly did not consider despite his connection with Adams — one has to wonder what the hell happened to this former dynamic duo?
Either way, Adams isn’t happy. That much is clear.
Davante Adams has been though a lot of unexpected events since he was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. While the Raiders weren’t widely a betting favorite to win the Super Bowl, very few thought they would struggle the way they did in 2022. Missing the playoffs was certainly not on their “to-do list.”
Since the end of the season, the Raiders have moved on from one of the biggest reasons why Adams wanted to go to Vegas in the first place, QB Derek Carr. On top of that, they never once seemed to seriously consider trading for four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. With all of that being said, could Adams’ time with the Las Vegas Raiders be numbered? Could the Green Bay Packers swoop in and get their guy back? Multiple outlets have rumored this to be a possibility.

Adam’s wanting to come back before I drop my jersey at Goodwill is newsworthy. Adam’s wishing LaFleur Happy Birthday is not big news.
