Marquette Golden Eagles shpprting guard Kam Jones was named the Big East Conference player of the week on Monday after dropping 34 points in back-to-back games, but that is not the only thing that happened to him on Monday. On Monday, he went on Twitter to discuss the most recent incident that happened in college basketball.

When the Duke Blue Devils lost to the Wake Forest Deamon Deacons this past weekend, Kyle Filipowski was injured for Duke in the court storming and many people have commented about whether or not court storming should be banned in college basketball.

ESPN’s Jay Bilas said on First Take on Monday about the potential ending of court storming by saying:
“If they wanted to stop it, they could stop it tomorrow… You don’t have to stop the court storming. One time, all you have to do is once they’re on the court, don’t let them off. Just say, ‘You’re all detained’ and give them all citations or arrest them if you want to. And then court stormings will stop the next day.”
Once Kam Jones saw that on Twitter, he responded on his Twitter page by saying:
“unpopular opinion if u dont want the court stormed just win the game lol”
He has a great point because Duke was ranked entering this game on the road and Wake Forest wasn’t. More likely than not, court storming is going to happen when a home team that isn’t ranked beats a team that is ranked in college basketball.
Kam Jones and the #5 Marquette Golden Eagles Have Won a Bunch of Games This Season

Marquette has a 21-6 record this season overall and has a 12-4 record in Big East Conference play this season. They lost this season when they were ranked on the road against an unranked Wisconsin Badgers basketball team back on December 2.
The Golden Eagles also lost on the road against the #3 UCONN Huskies a couple of weeks ago. Marquette has been on the right end of winning basketball games this season. Jones made the right statement on Twitter. If they don’t want it to happen, then beat the teams that you are supposed to beat on your schedule.
College basketball is a different environment than the NBA. At some point, people might get their way anyways and the courtstorming may wind up stopping altogether.
