Let’s hope you snagged Romeo Doubs during your Fantasy Draft. If not, you’re going to want to consider picking him up on the Week 4 Waiver Wire while he’s on a hot streak.
With Sammy Watkins and Christian Walker out for the game, Romeo Doubs got his shot to stand out against Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Doubs hauled 73 yards on eight receptions, had 0 drops, and caught one of Rodger’s two touchdown passes.
Solid numbers for a fourth-round draft pick.
Here’s the breakdown amongst the other Rookie Wide Receivers
- 1st in catch % at 87.5
- 1st in passer rating when targeted at 123.2
- 1st in Yards After Catch at 87
- 4th in catches at 14
- 4th in receiving yards at 137
- 6th in Yards Per Route Run at 1.9
We should also note that the 3 of the receivers ahead of Doubs for catches, receiving yards, and yards per route run are first-round draft picks.

Impact Player Worth Watching
Throughout training camp, Doubs showed his versatility, skill, and grit. Taking a “welcome to the NFL” shot from Safety Darnell Savage while still holding onto the ball.
In Week 2, against the Bears, Doubs turned a 2nd-and-28 screen into a 20-yard gain, with both Rodgers and LaFleur calling it “the most important play of the game”.
And his Week 3 “go up and get it” catches, highlighting his strong hands and gritty playmaking ability, only further showcased his strength.
High Praise From LaFleur & Rodgers
Head Coach Matt LaFleur also had high praise for Doubs, saying he was “super impressed”, and “He showed up consistently”.
LaFleur continued to praise Doubs stating;
“You feel it every time we go out there, he’s a guy who is showing more and more confidence. That’s a big part of playing up to your potential, and this is a kid that’s got a ton of potential. We’re excited about him.”
In Tuesday’s scheduled Pat McAfee Show interview, Rodgers talked in depth about Romeo Doubs, stating:
“There’s a lot of things I like about Romeo. His approach, he’s very steady, he asks a lot of good questions, he’s sharp when you quiz him in a meeting…he cares about it, and the BEST thing is he catches the ball with his hands.”

With how versatile he is, playing on the outside and in the slot (95 snaps outside and 20 in the slot), it’s easy to see Doubs becoming a go-to receiver for Rodgers in the coming weeks.
