The Wisconsin Badgers are staying home to begin the week, taking on another Big Ten foe in Ohio State. Wisconsin Volleyball grounded Ohio State in their previous meeting in September, right in the middle of their 27-set win streak. The Badgers will look to continue their run as No. 1 in the nation and hold onto their undefeated streak Wednesday.

Since Last We Met
Since Wisconsin volleyball took down Ohio State, the season hasn’t gone the way they wanted. In their five matches, they went 3-2, but the two losses came against ranked opponents. Their 7-10 record and 4-4 in the Big Ten has them sitting toward the bottom half of the conference.

Their struggles this season have dropped them out of the Top 25 in the AVCA polls, where they debuted at No. 14 in the preseason. They’re hitting .211 on the year and have allowed opponents to hit .227, which is not a recipe for success over the long haul.
Wisconsin Volleyball by the Numbers
The Badgers have everything going for them this season, as they’re looking to fall another opponent en route to taking on another powerhouse in Nebraska on Saturday. The team is in the middle of a 27-set win streak, which is the longest for any school this season.
Wisconsin volleyball is also amidst a 26-match Big Ten win that dates back to 2022, and an 18 Conference wins at home streak that is both school records. They’re also chasing their longest-set win streak of 33, which was set back in 2000. They’ll have to sweep both Ohio State and Nebraska this week to tie it.
They’re hitting .317 on the season, leading the Big Ten and holding onto the No. 3 spot in the nation for hitting.
Wisconsin volleyball also holds the top spot for kills in the Big Ten, and their opponents haven’t been able to block the attacks, with opponents only blocking 1.42 blocks per set.
Player to Watch for the Badgers
Sarah Franklin won Player of the Week honors this past week, and she’s our player to watch this time around for Wisconsin volleyball as well. The last time the Badgers played the Buckeyes, Franklin put on a show, hitting .429 with 11 kills along with two aces in the game.
