Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez has announced the Wisconsin-Purdue game scheduled for this Saturday has been canceled. This is a result of the COVID-19 outbreak within the Badgers football team.
Wisconsin had to cancel their game against Nebraska last Saturday as well. This came after defeating the Illinois Fighting Illini 45-7 in week one. Alvarez revealed on “College Game Day” this past Saturday 15 players and 12 coaching staff members have tested positive for COVID. This included head coach Paul Chryst and starting quarterback Graham Mertz.
Because of the COVID uncertainty with the Badgers program, It is unclear if next weeks game will be played or not.
The Badgers travel to Michigan next week for a prime time game with the Wolverines November 14 at 6:30 p.m.
