Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo may be the biggest name in the history of Greece basketball, but he will be just one of a myriad of superstars who will be competing for a gold medal in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

There is no more star-studded roster than that of Team USA, with the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry, to name a few, leading the pack for the Americans in their quest for another gold medal.

Durant and Curry were Team USA’s representatives during Wednesday’s press conference in Paris. One of the questions they were asked was about who they felt would be the biggest star in the tournament outside of their own team.

After giving the question some thought, the first name that came out of Durant’s mouth was none other than the Greek Freak.

“Uh, Giannis? Giannis maybe. [Nikola] Jokic,” he said.

Reporter: Outside of Team USA who you think will be the biggest star in the tournament?

    KD: Giannis maybe, Jokic…

Steph: Did you see that thing where they said the Dream Team played against 9 NBA players?

KD: We play 65, 64 NBA players now. They are all the best of the best. pic.twitter.com/TdT4ZQKxFV

Both Durant and Curry agreed that there were more than a few options available on the field as they talked up the level of competition in the tournament. However, it is still worth noting that it was Giannis who first came to mind for Durant, along with Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic.

The Greeks are not grouped with Team USA in the opening round of the tournament, but if Giannis and Co. are able to get out of their so-called “Group of Death” (they have been clustered with Canada, Spain, and Australia) then they could potentially set up a matchup against the Americans in the knockout phase.
