The Wisconsin football team has lost their star safety Hunter Wohler to injury before halftime against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Wohler, a defensive leader for the Badgers, attempted to make a tackle against Nebraska when his helmet contacted the helmet of an opposing player. Wohler was shaken up following the hit and left the field to seek medical attention immediately. As Wisconsin went to return the kickoff at the start of the third quarter, Wohler was ruled out for the remainder of the game and returned in street clothes.
Wisconsin Football Suffers Costly Injury to Defense During Crucial Game

Entering the game against Nebraska, Wohler has recorded 95 total tackles, two interceptions, and four pass defenses. The Junior Wisconsin native has been a force for the Wisconsin football defense this season despite their struggles. Wohler has also proven to be a vocal and physical leader for the Wisconsin team, as he called out his teammates for their effort in the loss against Northwestern.

Wisconsin football has been in quite the odd position this year as the Badgers continue to struggle on both sides of the ball. Multiple players and coaches have pointed out the Badgers poor effort and physicality to be a major reason why the team has not won. Despite the comments and frustration, Wisconsin has yet to prove themselves or anyone else wrong by playing significantly better.
Wohler got to work quickly against Nebraska as he recorded five tackles before leaving the game with an injury. The safety recorded his 100th tackle of the season for the Badgers and made his presence felt.
Could the Wisconsin Badgers Football team Face Minnesota Without Hunter Wohler?

Unfortunately for Wisconsin football and Hunter Wohler, the severity of the injury could mean the safety will miss their upcoming game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on November 25th. At this point in time, it is unknown whether or not Wohler will be able to play in what will be a huge game for the Badgers.
The star safety will likely need to go through a week of practice before the team is able to make a decision. If Wisconsin is able to defeat Nebraska, the team will finally become bowl eligible. However, a loss will put plenty of pressure on the team for their game against the Golden Gophers.
