The Wisconsin football staff has been eyeing a certain 2025 recruit lately with an Indianapolis Colts legend for a father.
Eugene Hilton, a 2025 three-star receiver from Indiana, is the son of former NFL receiver T.Y. Hilton. Hilton has been a prime recruiting target for the Wisconsin football staff after visiting Madison last October. The receiver is an exceptional play-maker and could become a serious offensive threat for his collegiate program in the future.
Wisconsin Football Eyeing 2025 Receiver Eugene Hilton, Son of NFL Veteran T.Y. Hilton
Eugene Hilton is considered to be one of the top players in the state of Indiana, currently ranked as the sixth overall recruit in the state. The 2025 receiver has been a versatile threat in his three seasons in High School thus far, garnering plenty of scholarship offers and collegiate attention. This past season, Hilton put together his best year yet and opened plenty of eyes in the process.
This past season as a Junior, Hilton recorded 46 receptions for 836 yards and ten touchdowns, including a longest play of 80-yards. Hilton not only possesses breakaway speed and great field vision, but he also has exceptional hands and understands where he must go with the ball after the catch. Hilton also averaged 18.2 yards per reception this past season while recording nearly 80 yards per game.
While Hilton has played exceptionally well, he has also impressed at collegiate camps where the receiver gets a chance to compete against other talented recruits.
A Look Ahead: How Could Hilton Transform the Wisconsin Badgers Football Squad?
While it may seem obvious, a dynamic receiver could truly help change Wisconsin football by adding more depth to the team. The Wisconsin Badgers football team is working to become a difficult to defend, multidimensional offense that may take time to develop. In order to do so, Wisconsin football will need to add players that can offer multiple means of attacking a defense to the team.
One of these players could certainly become Hilton due to his ability to change the pace of a game. Hilton is consistent and often finds the same gaps over and over again while playing against opposing defenses. If Hilton can find a way to hurt the defense, he will take advantage of it until they begin to double-team him.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Land Eugene Hilton Despite Massive Collegiate Interest?
With the state of his current recruitment, it could certainly be hard for Wisconsin football to land the talented recruit Hilton. Like his father, Hilton is massively interested in Florida International University and the idea of attending his fathers’ Alma Mater is something that intrigues Hilton. Outside of FIU, Wisconsin football and Ole Miss have been closely connected to Hilton and remain among the top programs interested in the recruit.
In order to land Hilton in the future, Wisconsin football will need to work hard to keep the recruit close to his home state. There are plenty of other recruiting factors Hilton is interested in such as location and the staff connections to his father which may ultimately influence his decision.
