The Wisconsin football staff has put together one of the best trios of running backs the 2024 recruiting class has to offer. Now, many other teams are trying to lure one of the three running backs away from the Badgers.
Darrion Dupree, a four-star running back who committed to Wisconsin from Illinois, has received a scholarship offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide amid their run at the recruit. Dupree is one of the most talented, all-around running backs in the class. Thus far despite their attempts, it seems as though Dupree is still 100% to becoming a Wisconsin Badger.
Alabama Crimson Tide Offers 2024 Four-Star Wisconsin Football Commitment Darrion Dupree
One of the prized recruits in the 2024 for the Wisconsin Badgers staff has been running back Darrion Dupree. Dupree is a talented all-purpose back from Chicago who has a great balance of speed and power. The running back was the second at his position to commit to the Wisconsin Badgers’ 2024 recruiting class. Three-star Gideon Ituka was the first, and then a few weeks after Dupree joined, Dilin Jones announced his commitment.
In a short period of time, the Badgers completely altered the strength of their 2024 class with the major additions in their backfield. However, with plenty of talent at one position comes a battle for repetitions and playing time. Both Wisconsin and Head Coach Luke Fickell knew that as they added players to their recruiting classes, the chance of other programs poaching recruits becomes higher.
As Dillon Graff of BadgerNotes stated, “…we all knew this was a strong possibility when Wisconsin picked up their third running back in the 2024 recruiting class.” The Wisconsin football program is still developing a new identity and culture under Fickell, and this situation will be a perfect test for the strength of the Wisconsin Badgers.
Wisconsin Football Staff Confident in Belief, Trust Players Have for the Success of the Program
Since the initial hirings of the Wisconsin football staff, the name of the game has been getting recruits and the fans to “buy-in”. What the staff has meant by that is that they want players and fans to believe in the team, the decisions they make, and the results they create on the field. A major part of this belief has been reliant on getting the players to agree with the goals and expectations set for the program.
Wisconsin has already had two recruits exit their 2024 recruiting class thus far. However, this is the first instance where a major recruit has received an even bigger offer. Dupree has all the tools to become a serious weapon on the gridiron in the coming years.
The Wisconsin Badgers staff will have to work hard to keep their prized recruit set on attending school in Madison.
