The Wisconsin football staff has landed another talented player in the transfer portal after receiving a commitment from Cayson Pfeiffer.
Pfeiffer, an exceptional long snapper from Cincinnati, entered the transfer portal after leading one of the top special teams units in the NCAA the past two years. After leading the Bearcats for the past four seasons, Pfeiffer announced his intentions of leaving the program shortly before finding his next home. The Wisconsin football team has quickly filled a need after losing their starting long snapper earlier today.
Wisconsin Football Snags Commitment From Top Transfer Portal Long Snapper Cayson Pfeiffer
The Wisconsin Badgers football staff has been active in the transfer portal already, claiming their second commitment in days. Cayson Pfieffer, a four-year starter for the Cincinnati Bearcats, has now rejoined his former Head Coach Luke Fickell in Madison after entering the portal briefly.
The Cincinnati Bearcats had a disappointing first season in the Big 12 Conference, going 3-9 and winning just one conference game. Following the completion of their season, a large number of players entered their names into the transfer portal to finish their eligibility elsewhere. Among the players who entered the portal was Pfeiffer, who had been a leader of the special team unit during his time with the Bearcats.
Wisconsin football struggled mightily this season with one thing in particular that plagued the entire team. The Badgers had zero consistency this season and the results of their games suffered because of this. As the Wisconsin staff is reforming the team, one of their focuses has been finding consistent players.
With the addition of Pfeiffer and Lowery, Wisconsin has done just what they have intended to do. Wisconsin football has added two consistent leaders to their program which could certainly bode well for their success next season.
Who Will the Wisconsin Badgers Football Staff Add Next?
With Wisconsin football securing two transfer portal commitments already, expect the Badgers to continue to push for more players. In particular, the Badgers have been searching for a wide receiver and quarterback to help the squad next season. One player Wisconsin has kept a close eye on is Tyrell Henry, a former Michigan State returner and receiver who has already visited Madison.
Another player Wisconsin football has kept a close eye on is Toledo Rockets transfer quarterback Dequan Finn, who threw for 22 touchdowns this past season.
