After a 91-79 win over the Indiana Hoosiers last night, Wisconsin basketball sits at 14-4 and 6-1 in the Big Ten. They are in first place in a conference where there is a two game difference between third place Illinois/Northwestern and 13th place Ohio State/Rutgers.
The Badgers are building a nice NCAA Tournament resume. I think it’s safe to say after missing the tournament a season ago, this team will return to March Madness in just under a few months. Where does ESPN, CBS, and FOX all see the Badgers right now in the NCAA Tournament?
Wisconsin Basketball Bracketology: ESPN
Joe Lunardi is probably the most popular bracketologist and my favorite to follow as well. He is extremely accurate every year. Right now, Lunardi has the Badgers as a two seed in the South region taking in 15 seed Sam Houston State. The 7-10 matchup is Iowa State and Oregon.
Oregon has always played Wisconsin basketball tough in the NCAA Tournament, Iowa State is also the last team to beat the Badgers in the tournament, This bracket was updated yesterday.
Wisconsin Basketball Bracketology- CBS
Jerry Palm seems to be a little tougher than most bracketologists. Most years, if others see Wisconsin as one seed, he is usually different from the rest. I look at his updates, but it’s not my favorite most of the time.
However, Palm also sees the Badgers as a two seed. He has Wisconsin basketball in the East region taking on 15 seed Sam Houston State. The 7-10 game is Creighton and Wake Forest. Creighton would be a bad matchup for the Badgers in my opinion. Palm has Kansas as the one seed in this region. This was updated on January 15
Wisconsin Basketball Bracketology: FOX
Over the last few years, I like what Mike DeCourcy brings as the FOX bracketolgist. When it gets close to tournament time, he appears once a week on BTN’s “BTN Today”. He talks about his explanation of where he sees Big Ten teams in his bracket. I like hearing that. As a result, he is also one of my favorites.
DeCourcy also has the Badgers as a two seed. He sees Wisconsin taking on 15 seed Oakland in the East region. The 7-10 game is Villanova and South Carolina. The one seed is UCONN. This was updated on January 19.
