Wisconsin Badgers First Spring Practice
With the glut of talent that the Badgers brought in this off-season, the question on a lot of people’s minds was who would be the first-team offense. In the first spring practice, this is who Luke Fickell and his staff rolled out.
QB Tanner Mordecai
RB Braelon Allen/Chez Mellusi
WR Chimere Dike
WR Skyler Bell
WR Keontez Lewis
TE Jack Eschenbach
LT Jack Nelson
LG Tanor Bortolini
C Jake Renfro
RG Michael Furtney
RT Riley Mahlman
It wasn’t too surprising to see Tanner Mordecai as the player to take a majority of the first-team reps. The other quarterbacks on the roster are younger and need more time to develop.

Showcasing The Team
The coaching staff knew that this first look was important. They made sure to give the fans a good show. All players, even the second and third teams, were able to show off their amazing skills in this closed environment. At this point in the season, the goal is to build excitement with the fans. It is safe to say that that goal was accomplished. The Badgers have many other spring practices scheduled which will give more looks at what this team can do on the field.
It is just one practice in the spring. It ultimately means nothing. However, there are so many new pieces on this team that just seeing them on the field in any capacity is exciting.
