The Wisconsin Badgers have a very crowded quarterback room after this offseason. The transfer portal brought in some high-end talent to the position and all of the quarterbacks have been looking good in spring football. However, one of them is deciding to leave the program to try and gain more playing time. Preferred walk-on Marshall Howe has decided to enter the transfer portal.

Wisconsin Badgers Quarterback Marshall Howe Enters Transfer Portal
This has nothing to do with the program itself. In a message on social media, Howe was very complimentary about his time in Madison.
“This decision is not at all a reflection of the University of Wisconsin or the football program as I do believe there is great success on the horizon,” wrote the Badger quarterback. “I would not trade my one year in Madison for the world…”
The sophomore quarterback now looks to a new team that he can have a better chance at starting. He impressed during spring practice and moved up the depth chart to no. 3 but there was virtually no chance of him playing this season. He now can try and find a starting job elsewhere.

A Crowded Room
Tanner Mordecai is the likely starter for this season. The sixth-year senior is ready to play even though he has had a rough spring. Braedyn Locke and Nick Evers also came through the transfer portal to complete a makeover of the quarterback room. It isn’t surprising that Howe decided to move on. This feels like a breakup that is good for both sides. The Badgers get to move forward with the glut of talent and Howe gets to take his talents and prove himself elsewhere.
There is a lot of excitement around the Wisconsin Badgers upcoming season. The Big Ten is loaded with talented teams and it will be interesting to see where the team ends up.
