The Wisconsin Badgers have landed yet another massive commitment. This time it comes in the form of a quarterback who already has ties to the Wisconsin Badgers. Landyn Locke, brother of current Badgers quarterback Braedyn Locke, has committed to play for the Wisconsin Badgers.
2025 Quarterback Landyn Locke Commits To The Wisconsin Badgers
Offensive coordinator Phil Longo has made a huge impact on the program since he joined. Longo helped add QBs Tanner Mordecai (Waco), Braedyn Locke (Rockwall) and Nick Evers (Flower Mound) via the transfer portal. He also played a huge role in landing 2024 four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer. His Texas recruiting continued this week as he landed another QB from the Lone Star State.
Landyn Locke initially earned an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers on May 14th after offensive coordinator Phil Longo watched a practice of his at Rockwall High School. Landyn stands 6’3 and weighs 180 pounds. He has accumulated five offers thus far: Wisconsin, Miami, SMU, Tulsa, and Western Kentucky, eventually choosing the school that his brother transferred to in the winter.
With the commitment of Locke, the Wisconsin Badgers now have their quarterback situation locked up for the next two seasons, a similar trajectory that occurred when Texas native Mabrey Mettauer became the first player to join Wisconsin in the 2024 class
Landyn Locke Has Broke Records In High School
Landyn Locke plays for Rockwall High School in Texas. Braedyn Locke set the Class 6A Texas state record for all-time passing touchdowns (128) and finished second in passing yards (11,182). Last season in just eight games started, he passed for 1,823 yards, with 31 touchdowns and just four interceptions. This type of commitment can keep the Badgers’ quarterback room competitive for years. Something that has seemingly been missing from the program ever since Russel Wilson’s magical year in 2011.
