Wisconsin Badgers coach Luke Fickell isn’t messing around at the linebacker position in 2024. While he has already landed two linebackers out of the portal, a third is heading to Madison and he might be the best one yet. Former Arkansas Razorbacks LB Jaheim Thomas has committed to the Badgers.

Wisconsin Badgers Land LB Jaheim Thomas
Thomas was the leading tackler for the Razorbacks in 2023. He had 90 tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks. Fickell is remaking the linebacking unit with Sebastian Cheeks and Jahsiah Galvan already committed. Thomas brings an upperclassman presence to the room and has a resume proving he can be a productive tackler. This move pushes the Badgers into the top ten of the transfer portal rankings according to On3. Once again, Fickell is showing that he can attract talent to Madison.
2024 Outlook
There are a couple of early-season matchups that will be a good barometer test for how well the team is in 2024. The Alabama Crimson Tide come to Camp Randall Stadium in the third week of the season. After a week off, the Badgers head to California to kick off the Big Ten schedule with newcomer USC. After that, the Badgers have games against Oregon, Penn State, and Nebraska on the schedule. If the Badgers are going to make some noise in the Big Ten, they need to show that they can topple the top teams in the conference.
Can the Wisconsin Badgers build on 2023? There was a lot of offseason hype last year and the season didn’t live up to expectations. 2024 will hopefully be different or some people might begin asking some questions.
