The Wisconsin Badgers Football team is going into the 2023 season with more expectations than ever before. Head coach Luke Fickell has seemingly turned the program completely around since he took over as head coach in November 2022. A number of three, four, and even five-star athletes have announced their commitment to play for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2023 and beyond. However, that doesn’t mean that the program won’t have its fair share of bumps in the road. Today, one of their wide receivers was arrested, this is what we know.
Wisconsin Badgers Wide Receiver Markus Allen Reportedly Arrested Over The Weekend

According to Michael Hogan of Badger247:
Wisconsin Badgers wide receiver Markus Allen was arrested on Saturday for possessing a firearm while intoxicated during the Mifflin Street Block Party, according to Channel 3000, Madison’s CBS affiliate.
Allen was brought into police custody at the Dane County Jail and later released, according to the report. He is due to appear in court on June 26. Badger247 left messages with UW Athletics and the Dane County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday afternoon. UW provided a brief statement acknowledging Allen’s arrest.
Markus Allen was a four-star prospect entering the 2021 season. During his 2021 redshirt season, he appeared in 3 games, making 3 catches for 65 yards. He made his Badgers debut with 2 catches for 34 yards in win at Rutgers.
During the 2022 season he appeared in six games, making seven catches for 91 yards and one touchdown. He recorded a career-high three catches in the season opener vs. Illinois State (9/3). He found the endzone for the first time on a 19-yard touchdown at Northwestern (10/8), punctuating a dominant Badger offensive output.
Markus Allen has had a busy last six months. Allen de-committed from the Wisconsin Badgers and committed to the Minnesota Gophers in late 2022, however, after the hiring of head coach Luke Fickell, he re-committed to the Wisconsin Badgers for the 2023 season.
