The Wisconsin Badgers will be going into the 2024 season with high expectations. Their first season under Luke Fickell certainly had its ups and downs. The Badgers finished 7-6 overall, 5-4 in conference play.
However, one Badger who had a successful 2024 season will be continuing his play at a higher level.
Former Wisconsin Badgers Quarterback Signs With New Team

DC Defenders announced on Wednesday that they selected former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Tanner Mordecai with their ninth pick in the UFL Draft in 2024.
During his one season at Wisconsin after transferring from SMU Mustangs, Mordecai threw for 2,066 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions.
Having been passed over in the NFL Draft in 2024, Mordecai was signed by the 49ers this offseason, and he is currently preparing for training camp.
The future holds uncertainty for Mordecai, who is competing for a roster spot in San Francisco, with a potential practice squad opening if he does not make the 53-man roster.
As a result of his selection earlier on Wednesday, the Defenders now hold his rights if he decides to play in the UFL next year.
During his six-year college career, Mordecai attended Oklahoma for three years, SMU for two years, and Wisconsin for his final season.
