How is the weather?
The Packers play away this Monday Night on ESPN
The Green Bay Packers play on the road this Monday Night in East Rutherford, New Jersey at MetLife stadium. The Packers are favored to win the game by 6 points.
The Jets will use the field on Sunday for a game against the Texans. Then the Giants will use the stadium on Monday Night.
Weather for the game
After a warmer weekend of weather the temps for the game are really supposed to drop. At game time it is supposed to be 34 degrees.
It will be windy with winds getting as strong as 17mph. That could impact the passing and kicking game for both teams.
The game should be precipitation free. It does not appear that snow or rain is anywhere in the forecast.
In better news the temp should be a “feels like” 42 degrees with the help from the wind.
Hopefully the Packers have a safe trip out to East Rutherford. Riding a plane is extremely common today. However, the Packers did something a long time ago that was a first for any NFL franchise.
The Packers were the first to do this…
Founded in 1919, the Green Bay Packers have a long and storied history. But you might not have known they were the first NFL team to fly on a plane to travel to a game. On Nov. 17, 1940 the Packers played the New York “football” Giants, losing 7-3. It followed a long, five game road trip where just getting there was probably the goal.
The flight to New York did not go as planned. According to Oshkosh’s very own EAA and their Inside the EAA publication, “Set to depart Chicago at 12:30 p.m. local time and arrive at the New York Municipal Airport (now LaGuardia) at 4:25 p.m., the Packers were slightly delayed when a group of photographers showed up on the ramp. The team posed for photos, including a pose in which quarterback Cecil Isbell lifted stewardess Roberta Schilbach off the ground and pretended to throw her to star wide receiver Don Hutson.”
Don Hutson today is immortalized today as the namesake for the Don Hutson center where the Packers practice.

Weather Thoughts
The Packers have been really great under Head Coach Matt LaFleur. Whether that is psychological or more of a credit to the Green Bay training staff remains to be seen. Check the weather. (Whether vs weather/ see what I did there ) But “the buck stops here” and LaFleur has been quite impressive in cold weather games.
It’ll be cold but it’ll be a great, December football game.
