At the trade deadline, the Milwaukee Brewers traded infielder Luis Urias to the Boston Red Sox for a minor league pitcher. Urias had played in 20 games with Milwaukee where he slashed .145/.299/.236 before being demoted to the minor leagues. With the Nashville Sounds, the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate, Urias played in 29 games and was only hitting .233.
In true fashion, after Urias received a major league callup to the Red Sox, his first homerun with them was a grand slam against the Washington Nationals on Thursday.

It’s also worth mentioning that former Brewer Pablo Reyes also hit a walk-off grand slam against the Kansas City Royals on Aug. 7. Reyes joined the Red Sox in May after he was traded from the Oakland A’s in exchange for cash considerations. Nine days after Reyes smashed that slam, he hit a game-tying two run blast against the Nationals.
There must be something in the water in Boston with these two former Milwaukee Brewers because they’re providing a big spark to the Red Sox.
