Warriors Get New Splash Brother for Steph Curry in Wild Trade Proposal With Pelicans

The Golden State Warriors shook things up this summer in their quest to win their fifth championship in the last decade. They’re hoping that adding Chris Paul into their lineup sends them on their way toward this objective, but at this point, nothing is guaranteed.

A lot of other teams in the league also retooled over the offseason, and it wouldn’t hurt for Golden State to add another superstar to the mix. The question for them, however, is if it all be worth it.

Warriors Form ‘Splash Brothers 3.0’ With Brandon Ingram

Lee Tran of Fadeaway World has proposed a blockbuster trade deal for the Warriors that will see them add yet another superstar to their lineup. This comes in the form of Brandon Ingram, who will potentially leave the New Orleans Pelicans in favor of a move to the Bay Area.

Below are the details of the deal:

Golden State Warriors Receive: Brandon Ingram

New Orleans Pelicans Receive: Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody

Steph Curry is still going to do his thing this season, and while he’s not getting any younger, Klay Thompson is still one of the deadliest marksmen in the league. Having another elite threat from the outside elevates the Warriors to a whole new level, allowing them to form the latest iteration of the famed Splash Brothers.

Ingram is the type of player who can make his own shot as well, and he’s going to be another closer that opposing teams will need to deal with. However, as Tran argues, it’s Ingram’s track record that could be a major issue for Golden State:

“The basketball fit isn’t necessarily the problem from the Warriors’ perspective, but Ingram’s durability issues are somewhat concerning for a veteran team like Golden State. He only played 45 games this season. However, the Golden State Warriors’ medical staff have had a good track record of getting the best even out of injury-prone players: we saw Otto Porter Jr. play 63 games in the regular season during his 2021-22 season with the team, his highest mark in the last four seasons. Perhaps they could help ensure that Brandon Ingram plays more games and is able to stay healthy,” Tran wrote.

Pelicans Land Andrew Wiggins in Intriguing Trade Proposal

Parting ways with Ingram is a tough blow for the Pelicans, but at the end of the day, they still have Zion Williamson to build around. They net Andrew Wiggins in this deal, who will instantly make them a much better team on the defensive end. He’s no Brandon Ingram on offense, but as we have seen in the past, Wiggins is more than capable of getting buckets when required.

Moreover, the Pels also get two very promising young talents in Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody. neither of these two has really found their groove with the Warriors, so perhaps a change in scenery is what they need. New Orleans has a handful of young prospects on their squad as well, and Kuminga and Moody would fit right in with their current timeline.
