With the Bucks season at a halt, we get to look back at some of the amazing players we’ve had over the years. This week, we look at the top three point guards in Milwaukee Bucks History!
1. Oscar “The Big O” Robertson
Is one of the most electric players of his time and As soon as he arrived in Milwaukee, he led the Bucks to an NBA Championship in 1971. Ozzie was a twelve time All Star, who won winning two as a Buck. He also won the All Star Game MVP three times. Only playing four seasons with the Bucks (1970-1974), he and Kareem are one of the greatest duos of the 20th century. As a Buck, he averaged 16.3 points, 7.5 assists and 5 rebounds and shot 46.8% from the field.
2. Sidney Moncrief
“Sid the Squid” is easily one of the most UNDERRATED Players of ALL TIME. Sid was a 5x NBA All Star, 5x MVP and was on the All NBA team in those same years. Known for his versatility and his ability to defend all positions, Sidney was a true jack of all trades. Squid played ten seasons with the Bucks, leading them to the playoffs each year. He Averaged 16.7 points, 3.9 assists, 5 rebounds and shot over 50% from the field.
3. Brandon Jennings
Not the greatest Buck of All Time- by any means. But he did bring that Compton Swag to the 414 in a time we desperately needed it. B.J was on the Bucks during an awkward transition phase in between the Michael Redd tenure, leading into the Giannis Era. In 2009, he made the NBA All Rookie Team. In his five seasons he averaged 16.5 points, 5.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds and shot 39.4% from the field. Not going to lie, I was lowkey pumped when the Bucks brought him back for 14 games in 2018. If he had better assets to work with, B.J could have been an All Star caliber guard for numerous years.
Honorable mentions
- Mr ET himself, Sam Cassell from 1999-2003 who was always fun to watch.
- Gary Payton with his quick one year stint with the Bucks in 2003.
- Eric Bledsoe, who has been with the Bucks the last few years.
