The Packers have a top-end roster full of talent and All-Pros. They will be in Superbowl or bust this season and if they are looking to raise that trophy at the end of the season then they’ll need their young players to step up.
Honorable mention
Jaire Alexander- age 25
Rashan Gary- age 24
These two are the best packers under 25. Alexander is a top three corner and Gary played last year as arguably a top five edge player. It would be too easy to put them in this article as one and two. So we’re going to leave them out even though they are easily the best Packers 25 or under.
-
Darnell Savage- age 24
Darnell Savage is a tough grade. Last season he was rough. He had moments where he looked like a heat-seeking missile and other moments when he made you want to pull out your hair. But, if you look at his 2020 number where he allowed a passer rating of only 53.4 he was one of the best young safeties. He had trouble transitioning to Joe Barry’s defense but you have to imagine he gets closer to his 2020 version this season with his second year in the defense.
-
Josh Myers- age 23
Josh Myers has just half a season under his belt after a knee injury last year. From day one the youngster took a firm grip on the starting center job. He earned praise from Aaron Rodgers in OTCs and performed well during his time. PFF graded him with a 65 pass block grade and in his 293 snaps, he didn’t allow a single sack.
-
Jon Runyan Jr- age 24
Jon Runyan Jr was a diamond in the rough. Taken in the 6th round he slid into the starting guard role because of injuries. PFF graded him with a 71.1 pass block grade and he didn’t allow a single sack in over 1000 offensive snaps. He projects as a long-term, above-average to pro-bowl starting guard in this league.
-
Eric Stokes– age 23
The rookie was forced into the starting corner role last year after Jaire Alexander went down. He was targeted 96 times in the season and gave up a passer rating of only 78.8 while committing only three penalties all season. As a rookie, he posted a coverage grade of 67.6 from PFF. He’s primed as the Packers second-best corner and looking to improve on this year.
-
AJ Dillon- age 23
The Packers thunder in their lighting and thunder backfield has been nothing short of amazing in his short time in the league. Last year he had 10 games averaging over 4.5 yards per carry. Last year he had a PFF rush grade of 90.2 and averaged 3.18 yards after contact. He is poised for another solid year where he is expected to lead the Packers in rushing again.
