Before the 2023 NFL season begins, everyone loves to rank players positon by position. There was an ESPN poll and the Top 10 NFL quarterbacks ranked by executives, coaches, players, and scouts were just recently announced. It is a very interesting list and who’s ranked in the Top 10?
10 Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
It is interesting that Matthew Stafford was ranked the 10th-best quarterback in the NFL. Stafford missed some time last season with a shoulder injury. He is a top-10 talent no doubt, but his injuries should be a concern heading into this season.
9 Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott has led the Dallas Cowboys to the playoffs in the last few years in the NFL. However, there will be question marks around him heading into this season. Dallas is in winnow mode.
8 Trevor Lawerence, Jacksonville Jaguars
Trevor Lawrence feels like he is too low on this list. He could very well move up into the Top 5 category at the end of the 2023 season. Lawrence will be making a lot of headlines this season in the NFL.
7 Lamar Jackson Baltimore Ravens
There is no doubt that Lamar Jackson is a Top 10 talent in the NFL. One of the few things facing him this season is going to be known as an injury-prone quarterback because it has ended his season the last couple of seasons. If Jackson stays healthy for all 17 games, there is no doubt he belongs on this list.
6 Jalen Hurts Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Hurts earned his way to this list after having an NFL MVP-caliber season last season. Hurts led the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl a season ago before losing to the Kansas City Chiefs. He is going to be a headache to deal with once again this season.
5 Justin Herbert Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the NFL. He has a very strong arm and has elite weapons around him in order to succeed at this level. Herbert can be in the MVP conversation this season and in years to come as well.
4 Aaron Rodgers New York Jets
Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks the NFL has ever seen. He is no longer with the Green Bay Packers and will look to bring a Super Bowl Title to the New York Jets. Rodgers is going to provide no shortage of storylines this season.
3 Josh Allen Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is no doubt one of the best three quarterbacks in the NFL. He is big, strong, and very athletic. The only thing that Allen is missing getting to the AFC Championship Game and getting to a Super Bowl appearance.
2 Joe Burrow Cincinnati Bengals
Other than Joe Burrow’s injury-riddled rookie NFL season, he has been a success story with the Cincinnati Bengals and has changed this franchise for the better. He is a tremendous leader and has given difficulty to the Kansas City Chiefs. Cincinnati has been in the AFC Championship Game the last two seasons and has also been to a Super Bowl because of Borrow’s play.
1 Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs
This is not a surprise that Patrick Mahomes is the top quarterback rated in the NFL. He has multiple MVPs and Super Bowl MVPs in his NFL Career already. Mahomes can make any wide receiver work along with tight end Travis Kelce and throw for over 5000 yards and 40 touchdowns.
The other quarterbacks that were mentioned as honorable mention: Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions, Derek Carr of the New Orleans Saints, and Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins.
