The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will travel up north to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Week 15 bout has a ton of playoff implications surrounding it. The Packers currently hold the seventh and final seed in the NFC, while the Buccaneers are in a three-way tie for the lead in the NFC South.
Prior to Sunday’s matchup, Tampa Bay released some concerning news regarding the middle of their defense.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are Likely To Be Without Star Defensive Tackel Vita Vea Against The Green Bay Packers
Greg Auman of Fox Sports announced that Vita Vea has been unable to practice all week, including Friday. If Vea is unable to go, it will be the second straight week he has not played.
Vea didn’t practice at all last week either prior to their matchup against the Falcons. Vea will once again truly be a game-time decision. Vea has battled pectoral, shoulder and foot injuries this season but has played through them.
Not Having To Face Off Against Vita Vea Would Be Huge For The Packers Offensive Line
The 28-year-old defensive tackle has established himself as one of the best in the league for years now. This season he ranks first out of all defensive tackles in forced fumbles, 11th in sacks, and has an overall PFF grade of 78.1.
Keeping Jordan Love upright will be crucial if the Packers want to get back on track against a team who also has a lot to play for.
