If you’ve been around the Milwaukee sports media scene for a while, you know things look pretty different from say…when Brett Favre first became the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. Heck, it’s very different now when compared to Aaron Rodgers’ first days under center. I spent almost ten years at 1250/105.7 WSSP “The Fan” in Milwaukee and I started there working with Doug Russell. Doug has been around your Wisconsin radio dial for the better part of 3 decades (sorry, Doug) and so I wanted to have a conversation with him about a few things including the Packers leaving WTMJ for his station (97.3 The Game) and some of the other significant changes in the Milwaukee sports media scene. We also discuss what it was like when he & I got together for the first time back in 2006. (WARNING: Doug uses some foul language at that point). So, if you’re a consumer of sports media in Milwaukee (and all around Wisconsin), I hope you’ll enjoy this week’s “Wickett ON Wisconsin”!
