The Steelers have a trade price in mind for Chase Claypool
Reports came out this week that the Green Bay Packers are making calls for potential trades to add more pass catchers to the roster. The Packers have confirmed interest in four players so far. However, there are likely others the team is taking a look at. Injuries have caused the Packers to look desperate before the trade deadline on Nov. 1st. A team with parameters the Packers are looking for in a wide receiver deal has reportedly named their trade price.
The Packers want a wide receiver on a rookie deal. The Pittsburgh Steelers have one on the market that has been linked to the Packers. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz with The Score, the Steelers want a second-round draft pick for Chase Claypool.
Two teams have now told me the #Steelers want a second-round draft pick in return for Chase Claypool.
My sense remains that Pittsburgh would prefer to keep the talented third-year WR. We’ll see, but his upside is simply too high if I’m Omar Khan. https://t.co/nAWADiMVAT

The Steelers aren’t rushing to get rid of the third-year player. Claypool had great success with the team in 2020 when he caught nine touchdowns. He also had over 800 yards receiving last season with two touchdowns. Claypool’s numbers are down as the Steelers have mixed up their starting quarterback situation.
A second-round pick would be a good deal
The Packers should consider dealing a second-round draft pick for Claypool. Claypool was taken in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played well in his first two years. Claypool has much growth potential and could improve if paired with a quarterback of Aaron Rodgers‘ pedigree. He could help push the Packers toward playoff contention.
As for the Steelers’ trade price? Drafting players in the second round aren’t a sure thing. The 2022 Packers’ second-round choice Christian Watson has yet to make his mark on the offense.
