The Green Bay Packers trade search is on
The Green Bay Packers have several significant injuries before their Week 8 game against the Buffalo Bills. In early September, most analysts thought the Packers and Bills game might be a preview of this season’s Super Bowl. Now it’s considered a must-win game for the Packers to make a run at the playoffs as a wild-card team.
There have been rumors floating around the past few weeks about possible trade ideas and free-agency acquisitions for the Packers. Most of the trade search rumors involved the Packers trading for a wide receiver. According to a report by Jordan Schultz, an NFL insider for The Score, the Packers have been on the phone with other NFL teams inquiring about potential trades. Schultz tweeted that the Packers are looking for a wide receiver that’s still on a rookie deal.
#Packers have been actively calling around the league to trade for a WR, sources tell @theScore.
Randall Cobb is on IR, Christian Watson has battled a hamstring and Sammy Watkins (hamstring) was activated last week. I’m told GB’s hope is to find someone still on a rookie deal.

This is an exciting trade search by the Packers. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers prefers veteran pass catchers over young guns. However, with the Packers’ cap space, fitting a wide receiver on a rookie contract might be their best option. Wide receivers Chase Claypool, Elijah Moore, and Denzel Mims are a few ideas that spring to mind immediately as potential trade options linked to the Packers. It’ll be interesting to see if the Packers make a deal in the next week before the Nov. 1st deadline.

Maybe Tyler Johnson’s rookie contract was to much? Tom Brady sure likes the kid and as a general manager maybe Gudi is listening to the wrong people? Your not going to get what your looking for when there’s so much money tied up with there L.T. and Q.B.
