Did you know that of the 28 touchdowns scored by the Packers in their 12 games this season that only two of them were scored by players older than 30 years old? The second of those two scores came last Sunday night when 32-year-old Randall Cobb caught an 11-yard TD pass from Aaron Rodgers.
The other TD scored this season by a Packers player older than 30 was on October 9th when Marcedes Lewis, age 38, snagged a two-yard pass from Rodgers in the Packers contest against the Giants in London.
Having only two TDs scored by players older than 30 may not seem like a big deal, but in past seasons, TDs by ’30-something’ Packers have been common. In the Super Bowl era (since 1966), there have been nine seasons where Packers players over age 30 scored more than 10 touchdowns for the team. Those nine seasons:
Seasons with most TDs scored by Packers age 30+
20-2016 Packers (Jordy Nelson, 14… Aaron Rodgers, 4… James Starks, 2)
17-1968 Packers (Carroll Dale, 8… Boyd Dowler, 6,… Elijah Pitts, 2… Bart Starr, 1)
16-1996 Packers (Keith Jackson, 10… Don Beebe, 6)
14-1966 Packers (Jim Taylor, 6… Paul Hornung, 5… Bart Starr, 2… Max McGee, 1)
13-1969 Packers (Carroll Dale, 6… Boyd Dowler, 4… Herb Adderley, 1… Elijah Pitts, 1… Doug Hart, 1)
11-2001 Packers (Bill Schroeder, 9… Brett Favre, 1… Dorsey Levens, 1)
11-2015 Packers (James Jones, 8… John Kuhn, 2… Aaron Rodgers, 1)
10-2006 Packers (Donald Driver, 8… Brett Favre, 1… Charles Woodson, 1)
10-2009 Packers (Donald Driver, 6… Charles Woodson, 3… Ahman Green, 1)
The greatest 30-something TD scorer in Green Bay Packers history is Donald Driver. He tallied 38 of his 62 career TDs after age 30. That total is tied for 23rd place for most TDs scored by an NFL player at age 30+.

Jerry Rice tops the NFL list with 109 of his 208 career TDs after the age of 30. He is followed on that list by Terrell Owens (76), John Riggins (74), Cris Carter (69), Marvin Harrison (66) and Marcus Allen (65).
Jordy Nelson holds the Packers’ record for most TDs in a season by a player in his 30’s. He had 14 in 2016 at age 31. Keith Jackson is the only other 30-something Packer to have 10 or more TDs in a season; he had 10 in 1996 at the age of 31, his last season in the NFL. The NFL record? John Riggins had 24 TDs in 1983 at the age of 34.
Two more quick stats:
- The last year the Packers had no player age 30+ score a TD was in 1999.
- Three Packers players over the age of 30 scored TDs in one game on November 13, 2016. The three: Jordy Nelson, Aaron Rodgers, and James Starks. The Pack lost that game 47-25 to Tennessee.
