There are two certainties in this world: Greg Jennings will say something awful about Aaron Rodgers and Kurt Benkert wins on social media. On Friday, February 25, Greg Jennings put himself in the spotlight by starting off his show by calling Aaron Rodgers selfish. Many of Rodgers’ past teammates, including John Kuhn, pointed out that it was Greg Jennings who left the Packers for more money. His statement was nothing by hypocritical. Many of Rodgers’ current teammates, too, took to social media to defend Rodgers. Among these was Kurt Benkert, who last season was engaged in a two-month social media battle with Mike Florio.
L take, Lots of salt. Get a new narrative to spread.
12 is the most generous and thoughtful person I’ve met in the league. Not to mention the back to back best player.
This sounds like it comes from a person that wanted to be that guy, but wasn’t.👇🏼 https://t.co/QxMnhb1QqT

Greg Jennings and Kurt Benkert Go Back and Forth
2021 was Kurt Benkert’s first season with the Green Bay Packers. He spent most of the time on the practice squad. However, he did suit up for one game when Jordan Love was on the COVID/Reserve List. In this game, Aaron Rodgers asked Matt LaFleur to allow Benkert to go in for the final play of the game.
It was this situation, of struggling and grinding to make a living in the NFL, that Greg Jennings attacked in response:
😂 so generous people can’t display acts of selfishness. News to me. As far as wanting to be that guy. Not sure I understand you there. Are you implying a guy who that plays?
— Greg Jennings (@GregJennings) February 26, 2022
Now, if there is one person who cannot be bothered by comments like this, it is Kurt Benkert. Benkert has worked notoriously hard to get where he is, overcoming injuries and doubt. The fact that Jennings attacked this implies what kind of person Jennings is, as Benkert pointed out in his next Tweet:
The ole “you don’t play” jab. Tells a lot about your character, Greg. I’m fine with busting my ass behind the scenes day in and day out without publicly being rewarded for it. Can you say the same? Getting your clicks up by trashing other people isn’t a way to build your brand. https://t.co/8IB0XrGCSX

Packers Fans Love Kurt Benkert
When Greg Jennings said what he did about Aaron Rodgers, the clip was met with more eyerolls than anything else. After all, it’s a new offseason. It was just about time for Greg Jennings to say something about Aaron Rodgers.

However, when Jennings bashed Kurt Benkert, Packers fans on Twitter posted in mass to defend the player who embodies what it means to be a Packer.
Kurt, just wanna say, I'm glad your journey led you to GB, because you're a treasure and we're thankful boss. Hope your weekend is good to you pic.twitter.com/NsSqZe2HsN

Aaron Rodgers is going to come back to Green Bay and – after all of this – it’s going to be because of Kurt Benkert lol

The Battle Concludes?
Both Kurt Benkert and Greg Jennings posted final tweets signaling the end of their social media battle on Friday night. However, they both had very different tones.
Literally just be a good person. Be nice to people. Think before you speak (or type). If you don’t like someone, move along. It’s not that hard to just be decent.
Done ranting tonight.
I prefer memes and positive vibes anyways.

Kurt you don’t know me and I don’t know you. You know absolutely nothing of my character. I’m sure you’re a great guy. I’ll reserve any further convo for a face to face. #respect

As a reminder, Greg Jennings is being inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame this year. It will be interesting to see how he is greeted by fans.
