The Green Bay Packers are doing their due diligence prior to the trade deadline. There have been multiple reports of players they are interested in. In-fact, five players have been confirmed that the Packers have shown interest in. One of those players, however, the Packers are one of the final teams remaining in the mix. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Packers are one of the final teams in the mix for star wide receiver Brandin Cooks.
Could Brandin Cooks Finally Come To Green Bay?
Here is the official report on the Green Bay Packers being one of the final teams remaining for Cooks:
Multiple teams in the mix for #Texans’ WR Brandin Cooks: #Rams, #Vikings, #Giants and the #Packers – as a dark horse – have reached out to Houston, sources tell @theScore.
Cooks, 29, has recorded six 1k-seasons with 49 TDs. I’m told if moved, he only wants to go to a contender.

The Packers being among the final teams to inquire with the Houston Texans about Brandin Cooks is pretty big news. So far in 2022, Cooks has 28 catches for 281 yards and one touchdown on 47 targets. Cooks has had over 1,000 receiving yards in six of his last seven seasons. The most recent two were with Houston. He has been a model of consistency for over half a decade.
According to Texans Daily, Houston was seeking at least a second-round draft pick for Brandin Cooks back in April. If that is still the case I would expect Green Bay to pass. I don’t see them giving up a first or second-round pick for a WR. Especially after drafting three in the 2022 NFL draft. However, if Green Bay could get away with offering a third as well as a late-round pick, they may be interested. That being said, Cooks is an asset many teams will be interested in trading for. The Packers can’t come in with a cheap offer or they will be easily overlooked. At 1-4-1 six weeks into the season, the Texans may be sellers at the trade deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised if Green Bay kept calling.

Think about how we would lose star receivers years ago by injury starting with Sterling Sharpe , a tremendous player . Brett Farve would develope other another and another and another , He made it happen . We now have Aaron Rogers , just as good or better that hasn’t been Abel to follow those lines , I remember one of the very best Charles Woodson say if a person was good enough to make it in the NFL they could become stars .Either these receivers we bring in year after year shouldn’t have been brought in to to begin with or our QB is dropping the ball . Is there another team in the league who doesn’t field a number one receiver ?
