The Green Bay Packers took on the New Orleans Saints in week one. The Packers were beat down 38-3. Here are the week one winners and losers.
Winners
Mason Crosby
You might be wondering “how can a guy who only scored three points be a winner?” Well, that’s because those three points were the only ones they scored all game. Crosby made his one and only attempt and that was good enough to make the list.
Davante Adams
Davante Adams finished with five receptions for 56 yards. Although that is below expectations for him, that is the best offensive output today. Tae still doing Tae things.
Jordan Love
Jordan Love came in during the fourth quarter, once the blow out was too much. Love went 5/7 for 68 yards. He looked calm and poised in the pocket and drove the ball down the field. The only real negative play was a fumble in the redzone on a sack. The confidence he showed in the preseason carried over into week one.
Losers
Joe Barry
The Packers new defensive coordinator started his debut with an embarrassing showing. The defense allowed 38 points and 322 total yards of offense. Their run defense struggles continued, allowing 171 yards on the ground. A complete embarrassment of a defense.
Matt LaFleur
Matt LaFleur did not have this team prepared for the game. The Packers had five penalties and only gained 229 yards on 52 plays. The offense looked terrible and the team was not focused. Big changes will be needed going forward.
Aaron Rodgers
This was Aarons worst game in several years and man it was bad. He went 15/28 for 133 yards and two interceptions. Rodgers was under pressure most of the game and forced some real ugly throws. Adjustments will be needed by the 3x MVP if they are going to make it back to the NFCCG.
Packers going forward:
The Packers will be taking on the Detroit Lions at home on Monday night. Both teams will enter the game 0-1.
As Always..
