NFL rumors: More than a few players have come and gone for the Green Bay Packers over the past several years. One of them is Jace Sternberger, who himself spent just two seasons in Green Bay before his career unceremoniously came to a screeching halt. The 27-year-old is now looking to make his NFL comeback, and it sounds like the Buffalo Bills are going to give him his shot.
NFL Rumors: Bills Bringing In Jace Sternberger for Workout
According to a report by MLFootball, the Bills intend to bring Sternberger in for a workout on Monday. It has been a couple of years since we last saw the tight end take the field, so it will be very interesting to see if he still has what it takes to hack it in the big leagues. He did show some flashes of brilliance during his Packers stint, so perhaps he will be able to take advantage of this golden opportunity from the Bills here.
Joining Sternberger for his Bills workout is RB Darrynton Evans, formerly of the Tennessee Titans.
NFL Rumors: Jace Sternberger Battled His Demons While With Packers
Sternberger was a third-round selection by the Packers back in the 2019 NFL Draft. He didn’t get much playing time as a rookie, but he got his chances in his second year in Green Bay. As it turns out, that was going to be his last season with the Packers.
Right before the 2021 season started, Green Bay waived Sternberger after he was suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The former Texas A&M standout was arrested after being found asleep behind the wheel of his car. Sternberger wasn’t exactly a star on the field, and his troubles off of it finally led to his short-lived tenure in Green Bay coming to an abrupt end.
